We were taking a family vaction to the beach with a four month old. I really wanted something that would keep her completely out of the sun. This tent was perfect. I could fit her bouncer in the tent along with a cooler, and me in a beach chair. I also felt comfortable enough in it to nurse her. It was easy to put up and take down; it took a little while, but it was worth it. I did practice at home before we left though. It did not come with the stakes, but I didn't need them since we filled the bags with sand. I had one women come up and tell us that our tent was perfect and ask where we got it, and she was a little disheartened that I had gotten before going to the beach. The quality seemed superb for what we paid.
Pretty good beach shelter December 8, 2009

I bought this beach shelter for a trip down to Navarre, FL. It was a nice tent. Very easy to setup and break back down. I didn't give it a five star rating because I think the material is a little cheap. I can tell that the fabric could tear easily if I'm not careful while setting up the tent, and one of the anchors for the rods already has a tear where it attaches to the fabric. For the price, I can't complain. I'll just have to be extra careful with the tent, and hopefully duct tape can fix any tears.

If you are looking for a tent large enough to hold big kids and adults, this is a good one. It's very roomy and open. It is not as easy to assemble as some other ones, but not too hard. It folds up to a reasonable size. We used it in the Caribbean and found it stayed nice and cool due to the open front (getting one of the models with 4 sides instead of 3 would have been a big mistake), was easy to shake out, and provided a lot of shade. Our toddler napped happily in it and hubby and I could both sit in it and stay nice and cool.
My only complaints are (1) it arrived without the set of stakes, but the manufacturer could not have been nicer about rectifying the problem; and (2) you'll never get it back in the bag once you unroll it - the bag is too small.

The Calypso Cabana is perfect for a long day at the beach! Take a break from the sun--it's cool inside and the inside flaps rollup to allow a breeze to flow through. It's lightweight and easy to carry to the beach, and takes just a couple of minutes to set up. Once it's set up, it can be picked up and moved around if you want to keep the sun behind you all day. Two people sitting on beach chairs can easily fit inside, along with a cooler and a beach bag. One person can put it together, but it's much much easier with two people. It's a great deal for the price.

Room for a cooler, a sleeping kid, and some shade for the big people too. Went up easily, though we used much longer tent stakes than were included in addition to filling the sand pockets. Well-made, durable, and looks pretty snazzy overall.
