5 out of 5 stars I highly recommend this product!   March 10, 2010
Bunny (Richmond, VA)
My family and I are avid drag racing fans and during the warm months we tailgate at the track practically every weekend. We do own an RV and we take it to the track whenever we go but who wants to be inside cooking when everyone else is outside having fun. I want the convenience of being able to cook outside the RV so that I can enjoy my family & friends instead of being stuck inside cooking. Only used it once since for 20 minutes but so far so good! I haven't had any problems at all and I am very, very pleased with this product. And with the cost being so affordable, I would highly recommend this product!

5 out of 5 stars Deluxe Butane Burner.   February 28, 2010

When I was younger my family always had gas stoves. When I bought my present home, fourty years ago, it was equiped with the latest electric appliances, since I have noticed that it is harder to cook with electricity as the temerature changes react slower. This type of stove (butane burner) was recommended to me by a professional chef at a high-end restaurant.
I am very pleased with it and it was a very inexpensive experiment and convenient for many reasons. I use it inside my kitchen - though I advise care so that it can ventilate properly to the outside.
I am planning to make a surface of non-conbustible material that fits over my present electric range so I can use the existing overhead fan.

3 out of 5 stars Self-ignitor faulty   December 30, 2009

Buy the stove with the push-button ignitor. The self ignitor mechanism on this stove is a tab on the back of the knob. The plastic is not terribly strong and breaks off fairly easily. I have had this happen to two of my stoves so far. It is well worth pushing an ignitor button in order to have a more reliable stove.

4 out of 5 stars Great Butane Burner   November 22, 2009

I love this butane burner. Whenever I take it somewhere, everyone comments on it and wants one. It burns hot and the canisters last surprisingly long and they are inexpensive to buy. I would have given this burner a better rating, but the heat control label on the front started peeling off and it is now loose. Not a big deal, since it is easy to control the heat. The automatic lighting mechanism is also having trouble lighting. I have had this burner now for over 4 years.

3 out of 5 stars Slick unit but DIFFICULT to find fuel for.   August 17, 2009

Unit is light and compact and worked perfectly well (including ignition). Case is cheap but handy.

The only complaint I have is that it was very difficult to find the right fuel canisters to run. Target didn't have them; Fred Meyer didn't have them; REI didn't have them... I did finally find them at a one-off sporting goods store (Outdoor Emporium, for you Seattleites). You can order them here on Amazon but you can only get them in packages of 6 or 12 and I didn't want to store them in my small apartment for the rest of my life (I don't camp that much).

FYI: the canisters look like shaving cream cans with a fat lip with a notch in it to hook to the stove.
