Collapsible trekking pole December 12, 2009 Pansy Kwong This pole collapses into a very tidy small package. I can carry it in my bag. It is not very ergonomic, so it will not be what I use on my big trips. I will use this as a backup stick when I go to unfamiliar places. Very good price.
smart purchase December 8, 2009 Asheville This was a great buy for the money...folds up nicely and feels sturdy during use.
FOR HARD, SMOOTH SURFACES ONLY November 30, 2009 J. Reed (Oregon) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these poles for hiking. The weight is good and I can get past the fact that the height is not adjustabL (I'm 5'4" so that may be part of the problem). I like the idea of the folding pole as it is more compact, however without a way to lock the segments they came apart many many times during my first hike. Not only were small rocks and light debris a problem, but often this would happen in the dirt with a smooth trail. Even after taking the 'boot' off and using the carbide tip only, the problem persisted. It just doesn't work for me.
Collapsible Hiking Pole September 28, 2009 Trish (White Rock, NM USA) I have purchased three of this item. One is attached to my SAR vest, one is by the fron door for quick walks and one is still in its packaging as backup! Pole is strong and easy to carry and use. But be sure to keep the compass on top screwed on tightly - I did lose one before I realized it unscrews.
Better choices exist August 14, 2009 M. Forosisky 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this primarily for the size - it fit better in my luggage that anything else I looked at. It worked well the first time I used it, but then the cork handle began to slide down the pole and it bacame very unstable. I recommend considering alternative products.
