Product Description Features: IR heart rate monitor. Speed and automatic timer. Filter function prevents recording false steps. Step & distance functions. Backlit display.
Amazon.com Product Description Designed for the more active jogger and walker, Brunton's PED-Cardio combines a pedometer with an IR heart rate monitor, making it an ideal training partner. The pedometer portion offers all the step basics, including step, distance, and calorie counters, along with more sophisticated functions like speed measurements (minutes per kilometer or minutes per mile) and an automatic timer. As a result, you'll always know how far and fast you've gone and how far you still have to go to meet your goal. The stride-adjustable pedometer even includes a built-in motion filter that detects body movements and false steps, so you don't rack up counterfeit mileage. The heart rate monitor, meanwhile, makes it possible to speed up or slow down your pace depending on the readings. Other details include a backlit display for evening or night exercise, a nylon clip chain, an R2032 battery, and a belt clip. The PED-Cardio is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box? Pedometer/heart rate monitor, R2032 battery, nylon clip chain, belt clip, user's manual

So close: yet no gold ring April 12, 2008 Martin Bacon (Warwick, New York United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The BRUNTON Ped CARDIO pedometer is well made, attractive and seems like it may last quite a while but set up was a real nightmare for me; the instructions are not worth the little scrap of paper they were printed on! So far as I can see there is no way to switch between metric and English measures and the instructions (the tiny bit provided) do not match reality. As far as design and quality of construction go, I give it five stars, but it is so frustrating to set up, I give it zero stars for user friendliness.
