Product Description Track your vert and the weather with the Highgear Axis Watch. This all-weather watch is equipped with an altimeter, barometer and compass. The altimeter can store up to 20 checkpoints with time and date to track accumulated altitude; put it to use when yo-yo'ing laps in the backcountry, bagging multiple peaks and bragging about both. The barometer records trends for the last 24 hours, and provides a weather forecast all on your wrist! Both altimeter and barometer are tied to the digital thermometer to keep them on track when things warm up or cool down. Upgraded with an easy-to-change battery hatch, the Axis is ready for as many miles you can put on it. A chronograph, dual alarms, and water resistance allow you to trace your tracks from winter powder to summer singletrack.

| Customer Reviews: Lasted about 4 minutes June 26, 2009 E. Sostack I bought this exact watch about a month ago from Backcountry... who does not sell it anymore on their site. It lasted about 4 minutes after I got it out of the box. While setting the time and pushing some buttons, the center button on the bottom of the watch popped off. I sent it back the next day and got my money back. There has to be a reason that it is selling at over half the price.
great watch on a budget June 20, 2009 CH (pdx) everything works well so far .... a few months into the life of the watch.
Only two aspects I wish Highgear would have done better:
- altitude data: when saved, only the current altitude is saved, not the accumulated data. I wish both could be saved.
- the watch band and buttons feel flimsy.
All other issues are common as other more expensive watches (they are all reasonable):
- temperature info is only accurate when body heat is removed for more than 15 min,
- altimeter has to be calibrated frequently (daily basis),
Overall, it is a great watch.
