Light weight January 5, 2009 D. Cepulis (Texas) My observations: A bit smaller and not as bright as expected. Sliding reflector really doesn't help this much either. More handy for emergencies than regular use as a lantern. Has a handy strobe-light mode for road-side safety as well. Sturdy and easy to handle. Nice style in silver.
Great compact lantern November 26, 2008 B. Preston (US) This is a great small item. Great for backbacking when weight and size are an issue. I get pleanty of light with the back reflector either up or down. Along with the long battery, I couldn't come up with anything that would improve this product. A great buy that I would reccomend.
Size is surprising September 9, 2008 Monica K. Jarema (Wyandotte, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
VERY bright for its size. It did a very good job camping. Lightweight and compact too
MIXED FEELINGS July 1, 2008 Kenneth Moy (Piedmont, California USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought 2 of these lanterns as opposed to the older cheaper yellow model. This has the newest generation of LED bulbs which is brighter than the older models -but the battery life is a lot shorter. It's pretty compact and fairly well made. Light is very bright, especially close to lantern. The biggest complaint is that the light is very uneven and streaky. This may be due to the cone like reflector design. I use it in my tent and really need to play with positioning to avoid getting blasted with a streak of light in my eye. I may get some of the older yellow style lanterns to see if a lower level but more even distribution of light would be a better trade off for brighter level but very uneven distribution of light.
