Even our 3 yr old g'daughter needs to have this to find her things under the bed. This is not only good for the miners but this is so helpful when having to work in dark areas and still have 2 hands to work with. You won't have to worry about dropping this and being left in the dark. (only if the battery runs out)

I bought one of these for my nephew's birthday! He's hard to buy for but he loved it. Then, my daughter asked for one for Christmas. She loves hers as well! My husband even wore it one night while he was trying to finish up some grilling in the dark! My daughter wore it all day Christmas day!

Very simple, straight to the point headlamp, got everything I was expecting. Good satisfying switch with two positions: on/off. Plenty of light, used this on a safari in africa where we had no electricity, got me around camp perfectly. I used consistently for 2 weeks, 3-5 hours a day and didn't need to replace batteries, nor did I notice any dimness over that period. headband fit both me and my wife securely and comfortably.

This unit is light and comfortable. It also provides very powerful light...sometimes. I find that mine tends to flicker from bright to dim (shaking it has no real effect on whether it is bright or dim). Also, the light is too diffuse to be of real use in an outdoor situation (ie, getting in the woods early in the morning before that big buck runs by your stand). Though, I primarily bought this for reading in bed, for which it works well (when the light is not flickering). For outdoor use, look elsewhere.
