Product Description The Allagash AL Cot combines a classic design with modern materials to provide a large comfortable cot that is remarkably lightweight. Despite weighing less than 7 lbs, this Byer of Maine cot supports up to 250 lbs. The four spring steel legs offer both strength and flexibility allowing the cot to conform to your body for a great night's sleep. The durable 600 denier polyester cover is mildew resistant and can be easily cleaned with mild soap. In the folded position, the cot legs are attached with Velcro type straps to form a handle. This is an ideal folding cot for any situation that requires a lightweight bed that stores in a compact space. It is great for family camping, as a spare bed for unexpected guests or for use in the vacation home. The Allagash AL Cot also serves admirably in shelters and emergency preparedness situations. To set up, simply unfold and flip the cot upside down and insert the spring steel legs into the holes in the aluminum frame and the cot is ready for a comfortable night's sleep.

Made in China, Not Maine July 31, 2008 Carrie Wehmeyer (New Braunfels, Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This cot is relatively easy to assemble if you are strong and seems very sturdy. The frame is all metal, not partially wood as pictured and the whole thing is made in China, not in Maine. Otherwise, it seems to be a good functional item.
Allagash AL Cot beats all others July 14, 2007 L. Cooper (Maryland USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this cot to spend a week camping out with my son's boy scout troop. Normally I just use a sleeping pad, but all the kids were in old style canvas tens with cots on pallet floors. I decided to spend the week in my own tent and got the cot to make sure I would sleep well. It turned out to be an excellent idea - although I was in a good clearing, the ground was rough. I would have had a very bad time if I had just relied on my sleeping pad. The cot is great - I bought the wide version to make sure I was comfortable and I was. The cot is very tight and firm. It is easy to setup, although you do need a little strength or leverge to fit the legs into the holes. This cot will be used whenever I am camping, but I haven't decided if i will drag it along on hikes. This a must for car camping and it was a good price.
