This doesn't look like an imporant item when buying the LFM mealkit but it make toteing the meal kit around so easy, I hook it to my Kayak on day trips my backpack on hikes and my camera bag on shooting trips it's just great!

This harness is for the Light My Fire Mealkit. It will ensure that the lid never comes open on the Light My Fire mealkit while in your pack or camp box (although the Mealkit lid/plate fits very snugly onto the kit and I'm not sure it would come open anyway).
The harness affords you the option of clipping the Mealkit to your belt or to the outside of your pack. The harness is made from very high quality material. The clip is very strong and uses a spring mechanism that seems very sturdy.
While I'm not sure that this is a required option for the Light My Fire Meal Kit, it is a nice accessory.
