GO CANADA!!! March 3, 2010 K. Newcomer (Kissimmee, FL, US) This is a terrific product, alot better than our old Igloo. It was so heavy and this is a larger size and much lighter. My neighbors in the RV park are Canadien and teased them it even looks Canadien cuz of the red and white striping!! We had a good laugh over that.
This cooler does a much better job than our old one, which by the way was 10 years old, and hope this one will last just as long.
Thanks!!
Koolatron P95 Electric Cooler November 22, 2009 Bonbb Cooler cools down fairly rapidly (faster than the Igloo). Like the domed top so tall bottles can fit nicely.
Functional, decent value October 30, 2009 Thomas O'Keefe (Farmington, NM) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We purchased this unit to replace a 12-year old Coleman of similar capacity that had become very noisy due to fan vibration that I couldn't fix. I like the shape of the Koolatron, it's taller, so it holds tall items upright, and it has a shelf that's handy for small items. The unit can be used upright or on its non-cord end, and the shelf functions either way. Clever. Compared to our former Coleman, the construction isn't as sturdy. I wouldn't sit on the Koolatron, but the Coleman can support the weight of an adult. The fan operates more quietly than our Coleman did when it was new. The DC plug/cable is more than long enough. We also purchased the AC adaptor (the same model ranges in price from about $27 to more than $50, so shop around.), which makes using the unit indoors possible. It's also a good idea to cool the unit down before use, which the AC adaptor facilitates. And, if it's packed with items that are already cold, its utility is much improved. If you plan to cool items down after they're placed in the unit, you'll be disappointed unless you don't mind taking a day or so to do it. The unit will cool down to about 40 degrees less than ambient, so it's possible to freeze the contents if it is left on continuously over a couple of days. One warning: tell everyone who will be using the unit that they must match up the "cool" blue dot on the attached cord with the arrow on the plug-in cord. Failure to do so will result in a heating, rather than a cooling, mode. We lost a fair amount of dairy products because of ignorance on this. A cool/heat switch would be better. Overall, this is a good, functional travel cooler.
Not good October 30, 2009 Chip Willis I bought this for our boat. First it blew a fuse. I could not find any where what size fuse to to put in it. Called their support line and got the answer. Then the plug keeps coming out of the adapter. Bought a different plug and wired it up, worked for a few days and now it does not cool or heat? It did at first with the new plug. I would not buy this unit ever again.

It is a good system, However the attached chord is too short and the cooling is mild; good enough, for cool, not cold drinks. The vent is a bit noisy and must be open and ventileted . Must rest on a car seat, not in the trunk.
However, it will do for a picnic or in the car while driving. We found the battery will drain if not careful. It should have a shut off valve whe a certain temperature is reached. has no temperature control. Benefit an attachment of AC can be purchased if you want to bring it in the hotel or at a party.
big draw back: No ice can be added , cooling process too slow and not cold enough. I would not buy it again , no ice an be added and i found it cumbersome for eveyday use. Too spacy not ot use it in the trunk.
