Product Description These burly cookers are made of lightweight, rust-proof aluminum. So they heat up nice and even, but are just 1/3 the weight of traditional cast iron. No messy seasoning is required, and this Hard Anodized version is the next best thing to non-stick.
Amazon.com Product Description Cooking with fire reflects a primal urge, and is far more satisfying than cooking with a camp stove. That's one reason to consider one of GSI's hard-anodized aluminum Dutch ovens, which are 66 percent lighter than cast iron yet still big enough to cook a hearty, crowd-pleasing stew. Aluminum Dutch ovens are ideal for outdoor cooking, with a high-performance, nonreactive construction that cooks slowly and evenly. Cast aluminum is also rust-free and easy to clean, so you don't have to soak the pot for hours to de-grease the interior. And unlike cast iron, no messy seasoning is required when using the GSI pot. Equipped with an edge lip that holds coals and charcoal, the GSI Dutch oven comes in three sizes--10 inches, 12 inches, and 14 inches--with a weight range of 3 pounds 10 ounces (small) to 9 pounds (large).

| Customer Reviews: GSI !0" Hard Anodized Dutch Oven January 9, 2010 Maverick Scholar (Oregon) I got the 10" hard anodized aluminum Dutch oven made by GSI Outdoors via Yahoo (58 bucks). It's one third the weight of the same size cast iron Dutch oven. Not even fried eggs stick in it, yet it has no non-stick, plastic coating. No curing with shortening or oil is needed. It cleans up with two paper towels, no washing needed. Gave away my cast iron Dutch ovens and ordered the GSI 14" monster for big campout meals. wow
Hard anodized aluminium dutch oven December 23, 2009 Katmai (Vancouver BC) Great product. Very light and ideal size for backpacking. Cleans up very well compared to regular aluminium and cast iron camp ovens.Heats up quickly and does a nice job of baking deserts. Delivered on time and a great price too with free shipping
GSI hard anodized dutch oven January 3, 2009 Old River Rat (Idaho) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Simply the best. As a whitewater rafter I value space, weight, and versatility. 10" nestles inside 12" and weighs little. Buy an oven bag for transport. They don't rust, cook and clean up like non-stick. Invert the lids and fry eggs or pancakes. With 2 of each size, I serve main course, side dish, sourdough bread and dessert for 8 people. Don't get me wrong, I love my cast iron, but not on a river trip.
Great but too big May 20, 2006 Chip B. (Worldwide) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great dutch oven, but too big for camping. GSI's 10" would be much better for me. It matches Backpacker's Pantry 10" Outback Oven, and the 10" fry pan. So you have matching lids, matching racks, and matching stands.
