| Customer Reviews: I like but husband is not as thrilled. February 19, 2010 Lincoln County MT (Extreme NW Montana) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm a smidgen over 5 feet husband is 6 feet. So thats not the issue with these. I adapt to new and novel much better than hubby does. Meantime what I wish is they would list the actual weight of the bags with or without stuff sacks either would be fine but no one seems to do that. And I would prefer the bag's stuff sacks be more narrower and so longer perhaps than blocky. Meantime I will look to make a compresser by taking two caps for each end of the stuff sacks with 3-4 buckles and straps connecting that can be pulled tighter to compress smaller. And perhaps just one compresser would work for two bags together...it'll take a wee bit of fussing with it. Meantime these are being bought for San Juan bike trip where lighter weight is important and smaller foot print too...also where nights might dip to the 50's so something is needed but not your heavy duty 35 below zero down mummy's. Nor your slightly smaller lighter down bags either. These bags look pretty identical to the Eddie Bauer models for more money and except for an inch or so in different size sounds like the same bags. We will carry also two twin ultra light fleece blankets that Penny sells too. You can get them often under 14 no more than 20 year round and that goes for the King Size at times too. So if you really want to try them out and have a travel fleece throw but bigger than a throw and perhaps lighter you can cut a King or Queen in two and safe bucks as well as have a larger wrap to travel with. We use these as a bit warmer bag liner as well as if bag is two warm a nice blanket to sleep around. I cut mine down and use the extra cut piece to make a pillow to travel with. I can insert a blow up lightweight pillow or super compressable filling and stuff sack them tighter too. Just gotta think outside the box and sometimes no sewing even for those who don't. Fleece doesn't usually ravel when cut. Anyway will give you an updated report and improved Hubby's mood once we return from the San Juans. I'll be carrying all sleeping gear, tents and food for 3 on my bike trailer. So intend to keep under 40 and goal is not more than 30-32 range. We all carry our own personal clothes etc. then. We'll ferry car over to first Island to stage out of so we can keep food down to 2-4 days and drop off and pick up clean or dirty clothes etc. You can travel on one inexpensive pass with bike all summer long between islands and mainland. Always think outside of the box !!!!
Great Sleeping Bag - Great Value January 17, 2010 Den89 (Mass, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great Sleeping Bag - Great Value
I bought this sleeping bag almost a year ago and it has absolutely done its job and more. I bought it for an upcoming cross country camping trip and have slept in this sleeping bag a total of about 70 nights now. It's extremely light and packs very well into the stuff sack that it comes with. It also fits very well into my hiking pack.
When I bought it I expected to use it for the summer and then throw it out but after using it this much and seeing the great shape that it's still in I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted me another couple of summers without a problem. It also has a small clear pocket at the top of the bag which is designed to hold an Ipod but it works great at holding you phone during the night and helps a lot in the morning when you don't have to search the whole tent for your phone.
Overall this sleeping bag is obviously not designed to do a week long hike in the winter with sub-zero temperatures but it is a great 3 season sleeping bag that won't cost you more than $100 like it would at REI or LL Bean. Great Product.
