| Customer Reviews: Fantastic Bag--Great for Prosumer Camcorder, not only for Camera November 22, 2009 Julie S.C.Y, 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been searching for the right bag for my Canon XH A1s camcorder. Finally found this and I can't imagine there will be anything better.
It is sturdy, waterproofed (including covered zippers), and well designed with many pockets and an excellent variety of removeable internal dividers. Yes, the padding and quality construction means it is not very light; however, it was much, much easier to carry than either of the camcorder shoulder bags I have tried. It was also less bulky than either.
The design is well thought out--clearly, they want to give maximum flexibility to the photographer/videographer and there are external belts and pockets that could hold any number of things--including several tripods.
The color's quite nice, too--dark red for the front pockets and the rest is black. I don't wear it as a full backpack--more as a shoulder bag--but the backpack construction looks strong and secure. With the interior dividers removed, it is the perfect size for my camcorder (WITH the shotgun mike left on, something the Lowepro and Kata camera bags did not permit).
I think its a great bag and (even with the added $20 or so for shipping) a great price for a camcorder bag.
too bulky and heavy August 23, 2009 Betterbody (agoura hills, california) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great price but it's too bulky, too tall and too heavy before even putting in my several lenses and camera.
Excellent bag July 7, 2009 beave264 (albany, ga) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
By the time it was over I paid about $75 for the bag and shipping. The bag is absolutely wonderful. I've got my camera(olympus e-520) a 14-42mm lens, 40-150mm lens, macro lens and a wide angle lens with room to spare in the top compartment alone. The bottom has just as much room. There's enough room in the bag that I can pack my camera equipment, rain coat, and a small lunch for 2 while we go on a day hike.
The lower 1/2 of the bag has a removeable storage area, so if you lay the bag down flat you can pull any equipment out or you can put the removeable storage area upright so if your bag is upright and open the bottom area the equipment doesnt fall out.
The bag stands upright on its own, even with a tripod attached on the outside. I've packed the bag full (about 25lb) wiht camera equipment and all, I carried it for 3 hours without any discomfort. The back of the bag is padded like a hiking backpak and again is very comfortable. There are multiple pockets and adjustable straps for the tripod on both side and the top. I dont know how the strapping will do long term but the bag appears exceptionally well built.
The only thing I dont like is the belly strap turns a small gut into a really big and noticeable one (good reason for a diet).
