4 out of 5 stars Solid, extremely comfortable pack.   November 30, 2009

What's the most important aspect of a backpack? Comfort.

Have used this pack on numerous week-long backpacking trips, sometimes carrying other people's gear. I've had this thing weigh in at over 55 lbs at the start of a trip. I'm tall and thin, suffer from minor to major joint (back, shoulders, knees, etc) pain when I'm active.

Simply put, I'm not very sturdy. But guess what? 4 days into a trip with 50+lbs and 10 miles per day and NO neck, shoulder, back, or hip pain. Impossible!

Pack can adjust to fit very long (or short) torsos. I think this could probably fit up to someone 6'4". I've also managed to fit this thing so that almost all of it's weight squarely on my hips.

Bottom line: Even if money weren't an issue, I would take this pack over 300 and 400 dollar packs with no regrets. Having your back and shoulders feel fresh after a long heavy hike is priceless.
