good product, great price August 4, 2009 david (Portland, OR) While I can't speak scientifically of the benefits of the Elixir tablets, I can say that I usually put them in my backpack water bladder while hiking and climbing, and the tablets make the water taste pretty good and they possibly provide me with some extra "oomph" as I deplete my resources during the day.
As for price, I was buying these in 12-tablet tubes at a local 3-letter outdoor recreation store, but I purchased 3 tubes of them here at Amazon, got free shipping, and they cost approximately 1/2 per tablet what I was paying previously.
Taste like Alka- Seltzer May 25, 2009 B. Stanley (California) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this to taste like Alka-Seltzer and leave a long lingering after taste. There are many other brands of this type product and I would recommend looking at others.
Tastes awful September 1, 2008 Ian Hopkins (Charlotte, North Carolina United States) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
Have you ever had an alka-seltzer? Thats what this thing taste like, but with a lime flavoring.
Tastes fine, not sticky, recommended April 5, 2008 PhilB (New York City, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I use these both in my Camelbak and in normal water bottles. Quick to thoroughly dissolve. Tastes fine and not overly sweet which is a big plus as far as I'm concerned. Don't appear to leave any residue which is particularly good for keeping Camelbak clean.
Great for backpacking January 21, 2008 T. Hunnicutt (Asheville, NC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought and used these Elixir Tabs on a recent 40 mile backpacking trip in the Wind River Range. I especially liked the "low sugar" alternative to the other sports drinks but on a longer trip where space and weight are an issue these were "the deal". They dissolve quickly, have a mild taste that doesn't leave a flavor in my reservior, and are compact!
When I returned home I started using them for my child's sport drink to replace his electrolytes without all the sugar.
I was very pleased with the product!
