great value March 15, 2010 David Gatlin I recently ordered this pack. It is good quality for the price paid. seems to be well made and is holding up really well. i am using it completely full and have had no problems with it holding together. well done
Great Pack for the price November 16, 2009 Thomas Bloess (Duarte, Ca) For the price my buddy paid to rent a pack for the week, I got this pack. While it wasn't made of rip-stop nylon and the most cutting edge materials, what do you expect for the price. That being said, it was still heavy duty. Several stream crossing had me jumping up and down back and forth yet the pack held up great. It also stayed put on my back. It has height adjustable shoulder straps which made it very comfortable. Well as comfortable as you can expect with a 30lbs pack on your back. My only complaint would be lack of places to strap thing down to on the outside of the bag. But other than that, for the price I paid for the pack I am extremely happy with it.
cheap equipment is what it is August 25, 2009 Catherine For just over 50 bucks, delivered, this backpack served the purpose on my recent backcountry adventure. It held together, had enough volume, enough pockets and enough adjustments to do the trick. Compared to the $300 pack I usually carry, there was no contest. However, this was a backup pack for a friend and I was not embarrassed. For moderate use, this pack is a great deal. I'm not sorry I bought it.
A Risk you won't regret. August 18, 2009 J. Payne (Lynchburg Va USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this pack because of the price as others have stated, but I took a chance on it. Actually, I took 2 chances. I bought one for myself (blue) and one for my friend (red). We backpacked outwest for 2 weeks- Half Dome at Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, the works. The bags held up great with no problems at all. We stuffed them full as well, and never had a problem with ripped or torn seams. This is a large bag- so it may be a bit heavier than some smaller packs, but when you're packing your life on your back the extra room is very much appreciated. The material looks and feels strong- I couldn't find a flimsy place on it. The "stiffness of the zippers" really isn't an issue at all.
Good Backpack, has a lot of uses. August 12, 2009 Jeffrey G. Schreffler Overall, this isn't a bad backpack. I've used it on the trail and as luggage for short trips. But it does have it's problems. First of all, the one velcro tab holding the internal bars in was sewn on backwards. Therefore not ever attaching to the tab inside the bag so the bar is sliding all over. One of the chest straps broke. The chest straps are also too short and I had a hard time adjusting them. The zippers are hard to zip. It has good heavy duty zippers but zips hard. The bag has lots of room for your gear or clothes. Good sturdy bag for the trail. A little bulky and heavy though. But honestly for about $40 a very good value. I hope the problems with my bag are just a rarity. The stitching seem to be carelessly done. My son has a smaller bag and he doesn't have any problems.
