Travel to Europe December 29, 2009 Heathera A. Cross I bought this as a bag for carry-on and a few-day trip from my host's house in Germany. I ended up using the small detachable bag as a purse and bag for walking around Paris. It is also a small enough pack to not have to be checked at the Louvre and other museums. The larger part was great as a carry -on when unzipped from the smaller pack but together the two were too large on buses, subways and planes. It did help that I had packed spare clothes in it since my checked baggage for my 2-week trip was lost. As a combo for 5 days in Paris it did the job and the trip to and from the train station was easier because of its ability to zip together.
It held up well and I can see using it again as baggage and/or a small backpack.
Nice Backpack December 1, 2009 William Jaszczak The only thing i dont like are the plastic buckles (they are kind of weak)
Wish I'd had one years ago October 27, 2009 cinderene I purchased this product about 3 years ago, and have been extremely pleased with it. The size is great, roomy enough to pack clothes and essentials for a full week, and with the cinch straps, it seems you can always squeeze one more thing in. The main pack is comfortable to wear for hours at a time, but the day pack can get uncomfortable if fully loaded. I've worn mine for a couple 3+ hour hikes in clear terrain, and it has been plenty comfortable. Oh and while it's not water proof and has no rain cover, it's pretty water resistant and there's no need to worry about your stuff getting wet unless you are in a downpour. This bag is best suited to the casual traveler on or a little ways off the beaten path, who can do laundry every week or so and doesn't need to carry much outdoor gear. It's worked great for the two 3-6 month missions trips I've recently taken (although if I had it to do over I would buy the 26" one), and I highly recommend it.
Great for international trips October 19, 2009 Matt S (Southern California, USA) I bought this pack for a trip to Japan. It worked great for moving from city to city and the zip off pack was great for using within each city. Whether bike riding around or on foot, having the little pack worked great. For me, I would change the following: 1) the water bottle holder on the little pack instead of the large, or a smaller one on the small pack. 2) The pack has a lot of straps on it that I don't always use (like across the chest and stomach). It would be nice if they were detachable wholly or easily put away somewhere.
Other than that, the pack works great and especially for the price. I highly recommend it.
Awesome Bookbag! September 13, 2009 Steele (Tampa Bay, FL USA) Strong, plenty of space & lots of organizational options--(straps won't break two months before school ends THIS year)
