Worked perfectly! July 7, 2010 G. Michael Phillips (San Jose, CA United States) Worked perfectly at Burningman last year. Held my dust mask and goggles easily. Plus sun screen and other stuff. Even room for a camera. Loved using it in the desert!
Lasted 10 years and counting November 25, 2009 Alexei H. Pfeffer-gillett I've had this backpack for 10 years, from summer camp to hiking trips to working a 9-5 job, and I'm sure it will last much longer. The pack is the perfect size for any day trip. It has one large compartment and then a smaller one in the front that has mesh pockets inside. I don't actually use the bladder much, so I'll often put a book or magazine in its place, making 3 compartments total. In fact, I'd highly recommend this backpack regardless of whether you'll be using the camlbak bladder. It is lightweight, durable, and comfortable.
My parents gave me this backpack for Christmas many years ago and this year I'll be returning the favor and buying my mom one. It's not often that you give someone a gift and know that they'll love it and use it all the time for many years, but the Camelbak blowfish is that kind of product and I highly recommend it.
Awesome backpack June 26, 2009 Nicholas Love (Baltimore, md) I've used this for mtn biking, hiking and running. It works great and keeps water cool for hours. You have plenty of room for enough stuff for a day trip. The only problem I have is that the waist strap is pretty high on me so I either don't use it or leave it loose. It fits my girlfriend perfectly. (I'm 5'10" and she is 5'3") Eventually I may get another longer one and give this one to my girlfriend. I got a great discount on it, so even if I knew about the waist strap, I still would have bought it.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! March 24, 2009 B. Farkas 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of the most practical things I got...
It small enough to use when snowboarding and still have enough water and room for snacks and other stuff, it expands nicely for those really long bike trips and it is always comfortable to carry and keeps your back dry!
Best overall Camelbak March 13, 2009 Carlton D. Garrard (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Camelbak Blowfish-
The latest generation blowfish changed only what needed to be changed from 2 generations past. A new pocket accessible behind the head for a good sized compact/superzoom camera, cellphone etc.. it is padded with soft cotton, and you can reach these items without having to remove the pack off your back (highly convenient) via zipper access at the top.
They've added the quick access hydration port on the backside and kept the airflow padding there. It has a decent waist strap and a perfectly designed on the fly adjustable sternum strap design (New).
Plenty of room to add things on the outside for a day pack. Perfect MTB/XC cycling pack, even a good trail runners pack with the sternum strap helping matters along, with the waist strap keeping the whole pack from bouncing too much. All quick adjustable of course.
If you want to pack light, the pack itself is very light considering it has 900+ CU of space. The perfect minimalists day hydration pack that doubles as an versatile day pack.
100 ounces of fluid is a good days amount and up from 90 ounces as a standard bladder from before, giving you extended trips.
Plenty of pockets inside for Cycling tools, maps, has a compact cycling pump storage area, and a lanyard/clip for your keys.
This is the best pack I have used to date, highly recommended for its size and price.
History:
I am an avid outdoorsman and professional photographer. I have easily 4 different backpacks, and have used camelbacks as long as they have been avialable.
I worked with Camelbak's first prototypes when they brought them to the cycling world, everyone thought Camelbak was crazy and nobody would switch from waterbottles etc. We were probably one of the first Bike Shops to use them at that time, that was nearly 15 years ago and look at them now.
Still a leader in the industry, and this is now my 4th Camelback.
Glad to see them steadily advancing and keeping the world hydrated.
