Like all SteriPEN products, the Journey is fast (48 seconds for 0.5 liters / 16 ounces and lightweight (128 grams / 4.5 ounces). Effective and easy to use, the Journey includes two CR123 batteries. In addition to the Journey, this set also includes SteriPEN's FitsAll Filter, which removes particulates from water with the use of a durable micron screen. The FitsAll Filter's unique design offers flexibility to filter water into bottles with a wide range of mouth sizes. Water can be poured through the FitsAll Filter or you can submerge the combined FitsAll Filter in your bottle of choice. The SteriPEN FitsAll Filter cup and funnel fit into narrow-mouth bottles such as commercial water bottles, soft-drink bottles, canteens, and narrow-mouth reusable bottles. On wider-mouth bottles--such as the included Nalgene 1-Liter bottle--only the cup is necessary. I drank Mexican tap water at a hostel for a week straight without problems! Works great!

We used the SteriPen on a trip to China where they continually tell you not to drink the tap water. The hotels provide you with some bottled water but it is never enough. So the SteriPen allowed us to have all of the water that we wanted. I would definitely recommend it. Now we have passed it on to our son-in-law who is an active Boy Scout leader.

This is so simple to use, I feel like a 5 year old. Happy face, sad face. Yeah, that's how you know if it worked or not.
Hard to remember if you turn it on first, or stick it in the water and then turn it on. Causes me to panic that it doesn't work.
